When you’re looking to buy or sell a home, should you hire a real estate agent?
No, you shouldn’t.
You should hire an experienced real estate agent. More and more often I hear this question or some version of it; potential clients are wondering if it’s really necessary to hire a Realtor. The real intent behind the question, though, is whether it’s a good idea to hire experienced representation to help them buy or sell a home.
The answer to that question is absolutely. The main reason why is you will want and need their experience to help you get through the transaction. Whatever it is that you do for a living, you are far more qualified to offer assistance and direction compared to someone who randomly walks in off the street and tries to do your job.

It’s the same for real estate agents. They deal with the day-to-day situations that come up and automatically know what to do in order to get the job done. What’s more is that working with an expert Realtor will save you time and money in your transaction. Realtors know the neighborhood, pricing strategies, how to negotiate, and how to properly position your home for the market. They can guide you through the contract and other complexities of the transaction that are crucial to getting it right.
